About

Elvina hails from Lithuania, and David from the west coast of Canada. The two met in London and, in 2015, founded Broken Island Films. Together they have made four short films, two dramas and two documentaries. While co-directing, Elvina takes charge of the image, and David the sound. They share a fascination with the ambiguities of human perception, particularly in relation to experiences of the inner life.

Their films have played at festivals internationally. Voices Apart, which was pitched at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, was honoured with a Research in Film Award in 2020 by the UK-based Arts and Humanities Research Council.
